Most of that time as a POW in Changi(Singapore) and later in Kamburi on the Thai-Burma Railway in Thailand. Cartoon drawn in Kamuri POW camp on the Thai-Burma Railway: Vic and Joy before they were married at Dossy and Fonsi's wedding in late 1945. Vic had not long before returned from being a POW in Thailand. Vic was still in army, discharged 2 Jan 1946 : Married to Joy 27 April 1946, Vic and Joy soon had a quickly growing family : Married in Congregational Church - Brown Street, Newcastle by the Rev D Davies on 27 April, 1946 Divorced on 16th December, 1965 at Newcastle Supreme Court ->->Marriage Certificate Joy and Vic early in their marriage Early 1947 : Vic with first son Victor Brian : Late 1952 : Glynis, Joy, Barry, Darrel Victor Brian and Vic : 1953_54 : Vic with Victor, Darrel and Glynis : 1953_54 : Vic with Victor, Barry, Glynis and Darrel : Vic and Joy divorced on 16th December, 1965 at Newcastle Supreme Court after many years of an extremely rocky marriage, in which Vic had severe addictions to alcohol and gambling. On a positive note, in the years after the divorce Vic started attending AA and managed to bring his alcohol addiction under control.
