  C O N V I C T _ R E C O R D S : Mary WEBB Mary Webb was a convict who arrived at Port Jackson aboard the ship " Wanstead " on the 9th January 1814. The ship had left Spithead in England on the 28th August 1813. She had been tried and convicted of theft, together with 2 other women, Amelia Maton and Mary Smith. The charge was " all single women ", stole " one piece of printed cotton of the value of 1 pound 12 shillings, from the shop of Thomas Gibbs in the Parish of Christ Church in Southwark, in the County of Surrey, on the 19th February 1813." She was sentenced to 7 years transportation. Her occupation was given as a nursemaid and her age was 20 years.
