  Born at 47 Bianca St. Bootle. Liverpool on the 5th January, 1902 to Owen and Margaret (nee Tierney) EVANS. Also lived at Benedict St. Uncle Harry as many knew him in later years had 11 Brothers and sisters : Robert, Owen, Joseph, Margaret, Elizabeth, Helen, Ethel, Samuel, John William, Ada, Edith. ->->Henry aged 9 listed in the 1911 Census, living at 53 Beatrice St, Bootle Birth Certificate of Henry Wesley EVANS Occupations: Seaman. Crane Driver. CoalTrimmer. Wharfie. Henry left home at age 12 and he spent these early years of his life on the sea. ->->Liverpool to New York aged 16 on ship, Lapland- 22 June 1918 ->->Liverpool to New York aged 16 on ship, Carmania - 2 Oct 1918 Henry arrived in Sydney on 9th Sep 1923 on board the ship, Gallic. He must have warmed to the look of Australia as by the time he got to Brisbane he had jumped ship and somehow managed to obtain a "Permit to Sign Articles" from the Commonwealth Government which effectively allowed him the to stay and work locally. Permit To sign Articles obtained 31 Sep 1923 He married Elsie Crawford on 6th March, 1926 at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Laman Street, Newcastle.
