      Mary HENDERSON was born on 13 April 1860 on Forest Hill gold fields, Emerald Hill Victoria.



      Her parents were James McFarlane HENDERSON and her mother Jane Brown McConichy.










      Mary only had the one sibling, Ann Morrison Henderson born 1858 & died 1860 in Forest Creek while her father was trying to rest a living or strike it rich in the gold fields there. Mary was born the same year, 1860, as her sisters death.





      Mary Henderson married John Richard Crawford, on 19th October 1881, at the home of her father James MacFarlane Henderson at Carrington NSW otherwise called Onebygamba & Bullock Island

      Mary and John had 10 children over a 19 year period, the first of which died at birth and their second child, John Richard died aged 10 years 10 mths.

      At the time of Mary's tragic death her children were aged - Jane 18, James 16, Isabela 14, Serah 12, Mary 10, William 7, Walter 5, & Elsie 2 years old, left to mourn their loss.

      Locality of Death: Found dead in Newcastle Harbour.
      Verdict: Found dead without any marks of violence appearing on the body, that death was caused by the drowning but there was no indication to show how deceased got into the water.

      Mary was burried at Sandgate Cemetery on 6th March 1904
      in PRESBYTERIAN, Section 6NE lot 56
